A Live Show! A Live Stream! A Weekly Podcast! And a bit of a lie down.

A Live Show! A Live Stream! A Weekly Podcast! And a bit of a lie down.

We thought you ought to know.

Yeah, we know we made a very similar post pretty recently. It was packed with what we saw as pretty reasonable, if vague, excuses as to why the content we’ve been putting out has been pretty threadbare lately. To make a long story short, we’ve all been very busy, and very tired. Our work on Discharge, even if it might not sound like it, takes quite a lot of time and quite a lot of energy. In the past, we’ve taken some time off over the summer to recharge our batteries. We didn’t do that this year, feeling our every-other-week schedule would solve the problem. Well, as you can tell by how infrequent the podcast has become, it didn’t. Thank you all for your patience with this, as we’ve spluttered out way through the last month, trying to get something out for you guys.

Second long story short: We’re taking a break. We’ve come very close over the last few months to some very exciting things, that have taken a lot of time, effort, and preparation and then fallen through. We were hoping to do a live show in September, but unfortunately that’s no longer happening. We had a few videos we tries to put together that we couldn’t get. And, for a very exciting period, we got very close to having freshly-minted Liberal Democrat leader Vince Cable on the podcast, before he pulled out without so much as a second referendum. On top of that, we’ve all had countless other things to be doing, and vicious quantities of Love Island to be watching just in order to entertain you all. We need a lie down, frankly.

The podcast will be back, back, back for Episode 98 on September 22nd. And it’ll be back the week after that on September 29th. And then every week from them on. Because we’re going to be doing the show weekly again. That’s right, kids, a brand new spanking podcast every week. And by that we mean a new podcast, like our old ones. The show isn’t going to be exclusively about spanking now. We really should have know to use a coma in that sentence. We only have six University degrees in writing between us.

We’ve also got two very special shows coming up. The first week of October will mark our 100th Episode, and we have some very exciting plans. We’re going to be live streaming the show, so you can the thing live and join in with the festivities and celebrations and general guff. There’ll be more details soon enough, so keep any and all facial features peeled for that.

And! In November! We’re going to be a part of the Nottingham Comedy Festival again! On November 10th, Team Discharge shall descend on The Cross Keys, Nottingham for Verbal Discharge’s Review of the Year, completely ignoring the fact that there’e still a month and a half to go of 2017. To quote the official NCF press release-

A desperate and optimistic attempt to make light of Planet Earth’s steady slide towards apocalypse with award-winning comedy men Verbal Discharge.

Verbal Discharge’s Review of the Year 2017
Friday 10th November
The Cross Keys – Nottingham
Doors 7pm / Performance Time 7.30pm
Tickets £3.50

Presented by Furthest from the Sea Music, Comedy & Arts CIC as part of Nottingham Comedy Festival 2017, supported by Foulds Music

Wasn’t that a fun extract from a press release? Again, we’ll have more details closer to the time, but KEEP THE DATE FREE PLEASE.

Well. That brings us about up to date, doesn’t it? We should do this again some time. Anyway, must dash, have to pick the kids up from school. They’ve moved to some new timetable based on research by Swiss science men so they finish dead early. So, until September 22nd, enjoy this hastily-written announcement text, have a lovely month, and we’ll see you for some hot, fresh podcast action.
